“My best friend introduced me to MOPS a little over a year ago and it has helped me in all ways. MOPS = Mothers of Preschoolers and it’s a Mothers’ group where you can come and your child gets looked after by carers while you get to sit with other mums. You can talk, have a coffee and some yummy morning tea, have a laugh or even a cry if you need to. During my relationship I lost a lot of confidence and MOPS helped me get it back and be ‘me’ again! Not just ‘mum’, I got to be Tamira again, if you know what I mean. I love it so much… It’s also helped me to become a better cook! I made it a personal goal to always make something home made when I bring morning tea, so now I can make slices and lots of home baked goodies ….”
My friends will tell you that I’m not usually stumped for words but…today I’m feeling a bit nervous. This is my first blog post in my new role as Blog Administrator for M♡PS Australia. I’m pretty sure I don’t know what I’m doing yet but, if you’ll have me, I’m happy to stay and give it my best shot.

Because each one of us is being watched by at least one other person. What we do and say influences that other person. If we are an influencer, we are in fact a leader. Maybe not the leader of an army, maybe not from the platform, from the head of a department, or even the one people see as a leader, but when you choose to put your feet to the floor in the morning, you put yourself in a position of influence. You are immediately available to lead. Continue reading “MOPS Australia Awards 2015”

The power of music can transform your home.
Because I was going to be home with our baby boy anyway, we decided not to send our twin girls to Kindergarten. So in the months leading up to their first day of school we did our best to get them prepared for the journey of learning that lay ahead of them. But in a way, it was me who needed the training!
I mean, we are expected to provide them with a packed lunch… everyday!
The thought came sometime between settling my youngest child for bed and clearing up the dinner dishes in the kitchen.
Intoxicated with the warmth of the summer evening and all the promise of the new year, I decided I wanted to go somewhere. And not just wherever my feet wandered, I wanted to go somewhere on purpose. Continue reading “Setting Personal Goals”
