What does MOPS mean to you? What difference has it made in your life? I think over my own involvement with MOPS since my daughter was born in 2011. MOPS was a place of refuge where I built long-lasting friendships. Then it became a place where I could bring the unique parts of myself to make a difference for others and grow as a leader. Maybe you can relate and love being a part of your local MOPS group. Perhaps your days of being actively involved with MOPS are over but you still cherish those memories and relationships. We have created the Friends of MOPS Australia program for you.
Opportunities to make a difference and be part of a community surround us. I love it that so many MOPS leaders and mums have gone on to workplaces, other not-for-profit organisations or church ministries. They carry the legacy of their time with MOPS into different parts of our communities. This is a core part of the mission of MOPS Australia- “to encourage and equip mothers of young children to realise their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership with the local church.”
I was at a conference recently hosting a promotional stand for MOPS. A woman stopped by and began to share her story of being involved with MOPS. She talked about the leadership roles she had held, the sense of community that came with that and the church ministry she serves in now. Tears formed as the emotions rose to the surface. It had been many years since her involvement came to an end, but it was so significant in her life. We love hearing these stories and would love to hear more. (Feel free to share your story in the comments or via the website contact form.)
It is such a privilege to be able to invest in the lives of mums. I love that this organisation and the groups are run by mums, for mums. It creates this sisterhood bond where we can share our lives, understand others, and be understood. As children get older and lives change, MOPS may no longer be part of your days. The connections made with people may last, but often the connection with the wider MOPS Australia sisterhood is lost. We wanted to change that.
We created the Friends of MOPS Australia program. As a subscriber, you get to connect with the MOPS Australia sisterhood. You also get to invest in the resources and training we provide so that many more mums can connect with the community, grow in their motherhood and leadership, and take steps forward in their faith journey. A small contribution each month from you may not seem like much, but together, those small contributions can make a big impact on our ability to keep running as an organisation.
This is your opportunity to make a difference.
The Friends of MOPS Australia program is now open with two levels of subscription available. Check out all the details and join us here.
