Upon entering the SA MOPS conference my heart instantly felt full. The room was full of colour, fun and laughter. Throughout the night we played games that really encouraged us to have more fun, we feasted on lots and lots of delicious food, and shared in great conversation.
Day 2 of conference started with a room full of mums singing praises to God; what a joyful way to start the day. Lexia Smallwood unpacked John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” She spoke about Jesus as our shepherd, about our common thread in motherhood and MOPS being a place of access to a knowledge and relationship with God. Lexia concluded her talk by drawing a connection from this year’s Find Your Fire theme with next year’s theme of living life to the full saying. “Next year we will experience living life to the full, not flickeringly.”
We were also blessed to hear some personal testimonies. These women’s stories spoke of God working in their lives, helping them to find their people, have more fun and fear less. I believe I speak for many when I say how moving and heartfelt their testimonies were.
As we gathered in our Welcome, Meeting and Connection group, we prayed, laughed, discussed and brain-stormed together. It was lovely to connect on a deeper level with these women who share the same passion to serve our mums and share God’s love with them.
This year’s conference was so much fun; it was truly To The Full.
