Are you going?

06 June 2011

Where can you go to get timeout as a mother & a MOPS leader?

Where can you go to meet others who are as passionate about MOPS as you are?

Where can you go to be renewed and refreshed in your role as a MOPS leader?

Where can you go to worship God without children tugging at you?

Where can you go to drink a hot cuppa and enjoy a hot meal and not have to do any  house work for a day or two?

The answer to all of these questions is at your state MOPS conference.

MOPS conferences help you to see that MOPS is so much bigger than your own local group.  You will get to meet and mix with leaders from all over your state who are also running MOPS in their own local churches.

At conference many of the sessions will involve a time of worship as well as an address from a keynote speaker and you will also get to hear some leader’s stories.  The theme for 2012, Mumsense: Bold, Loving & Sensible, will be introduced and explored so that you can go home with many ideas to implement this theme in the coming year.  One of the most commented about aspects of conference is the networking with other leaders.  This occurs not only during the specific leadership workshops but also throughout the conference.  Leaders also get to attend other workshops or mini-electives on different topics that will be relevant to you as a leader and a mother.

Nursing Babies are welcome at conference and depending on the availability of babysitters they will be cared for so that you can enjoy the main sessions.  However where babysitters are not available your babies are more than welcome to be in the sessions with you.

I would like to encourage you to bring as many of your team to conference as possible.  Conference is also a great time to bond even more as a team.  All MOPS leaders are welcome at conference and we run workshops that are relevant for all positions including all Discussion leaders, Mentors & MOPPETS leaders.  If you are considering taking on a leadership position you are very welcome to attend. Many groups raise money to help their leaders attend conference.  Two fundraising ideas are to have a pie drive or run a sausage sizzle outside a local store.  What ideas do you have for raising money so that your leadership team can attend conference?  Feel free to share your ideas in the comments section on this blog.

If you would like to be involved with the planning of your state’s conference please contact your state conference convenor.  There are many ways to be involved from praying, to being part of the worship team, to helping with decor, to creating nametags and more!

Attend your state conference and go home renewed, refreshed and inspired to be Bold, Loving and Sensible Leaders so that we can keep reaching out to every mother of preschoolers in our country.
