It’s hard to feel romantic when you have kids trying to gain your attention when you are busy. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find time for romance.
Finding time to invest in your marriage is important, but if you don’t make the effort, it just never seems to happen. The best approach is through a regular date night.
If you can’t afford a sitter, you might find another family that is willing to trade off with you. Most couples will jump at the chance to exchange babysitting for a date night. And then look for creative ways to make the time special.
Take turns planning the date, and then keep it a secret from each other. Instead of going to a movie, drive to the country and spend an evening gazing at the stars. Or walk along the beach or go to scenic look out.
Romance in marriage doesn’t happen by accident. You need to be intentional and realize that it’s a critical element in keeping your love alive.
