Little Memories

23 November 2015

Your kids won’t recall all the times you fed them and got them dressed for school — but they will remember family traditions or the times you surprised them with something special.

ginger-breadWe all want our kids to know how much we love them and sometimes the best way to remind them is through simple acts of affection, like hiding a note in their lunch box or slipping a new stuffed animal under their covers before bedtime.

One dad I know takes one of his kids for breakfast one Saturday morning a month. Each child has his or her own week on the calendar and it’s something they look forward to all month long.

A mum I know wakes her son up each day by saying “Good morning, Sunshine!” Now that he’s a toddler he looks for her the minute he gets up waiting for his daily greeting.

It doesn’t take much to make a child feel special and it’s the little things they’ll remember long after they’ve grown and left home.
