Sometimes the best thing you can do for your kids is to care for your spouse.
Too often parents put so much energy into raising kids that they forget to show affection toward each other. But kids need parents who love each other deeply in order to grow up emotionally healthy.
If you want to give your children a sense of security do it by giving your spouse the love and respect they deserve. It’s the little things that make a marriage strong and kids are quick to pick up on that.
And don’t be afraid to kiss your spouse in front of the kids. When your kids are teenagers they may roll their eyes, but trust me — they will love it. Even more than that, they need it.
