QLD Conference Highlights

02 September 2013

What a great way to celebrate being a woman and having a beautiful mess to share, by attending the MOPS Qld/NT State Conference.  From Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon you could see the joy on ladies faces (and the men, too) embracing the weekend.

The whole weekend flowed well, thanks to great organisation from Hayley and her many teams.  The theme, “A beautiful mess – Embrace your story”, was well covered in every area of the weekend.

Praise, prayer and the worship service kept us focused on the most honourable part of the weekend – God.  The speakers provided motivating talks that challenged us to grow in our journey of motherhood, serving and leadership.

The brainstorming and electives helped us to be very productive.  Sharing ideas within our own MOPS team, plus gleaning from other groups, gave a great balance of encouragement.  Also, having the chance to share and freely ask questions at the electives, helped prepare each of us to return to our position refreshed.

The testimonies were a blessing to hear (hope this doesn’t sound too biased), as God uses our challenging situations always for His good and glory.  How else could we relate to MOPS women unless we’ve been through trials, also.  If we allow God to help us through these times He will grow our faith and trust in Him, as well as some of the fruits of the Spirit along the journey.  Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.

The fun of Saturday night was…well…FUN.  Much laughter was shared and our gracious men were willing participants also.  We had the pleasure of meeting and greeting most of the MOPS board.  The passion that these ladies and gentlemen have for MOPS helps us to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of women.

Our “beautiful mess” was celebrated all throughout the weekend.  I am sure that we all left with full stomachs (delicious food), full spirits (from the love of our Father), full hearts (from fellowship shared together) and full minds (renewed by ideas).

Until next conference, God bless you and guide you.  Embrace your story, be your own real me and keep sharing your beautiful mess.
