There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Seasons are God’s way of implementing change. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it is right. I know I am always sad to see the trees stripped bare after their glorious Autumn display has drifted to the ground in a swirling sea of plum and golden hues. I am sad also when the sweet perfume of rose bushes in bloom are replaced by their pruned sci-fi like angular bare stems. Yet this is not a permanent situation. Even though the trees are bare in winter, they will bear green buds in Spring and once again wear their mantle of foliage proudly. The rose bushes may look spiky and forbidding but there is still life flowing through their stems! They will carry the blush of a rose again soon. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s right. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

There are seasons in MOPS as well. Seasons of new leadership, the fresh tender buds that accompany a new beginning, a new group chartered, a new coordinator position. Seasons change…your youngest child goes off to Big School and you graduate from MOPS. Perhaps you will take on a leadership position in MOPPETS, or return as a mentor or take on a MOPS Regional Coordinator position. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s right. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

The ferocious storms of the wet season come. The cyclones knock you around a bit! A few of our beloved MOPS Regional Coordinators, Area Coordinators and even our National President resign from their positions. We can’t imagine how we’ll get by without them but somehow we do. We send cards, we send emails, we leave facebook messages for those who are in the impact zone and if necessary we go physically and help where it is needed. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s right. (Galatians 6:2)

Then it is time to prepare the soil again for planting. To sow the seed, water it, tend it well and allow God to do what He does best…bring a harvest out of our offering. He gets into the roots of our lives and gently and tenderly encourages us to grow, to push through, and to stretch ourselves for His glory. It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s right. (Galatians 6:9)  (Ephesians 1:11-12)

There really is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. I have enjoyed my 7 year MOPS journey; first as a founding Coordinator, then as the Sunshine Coast Regional Coordinator and roving Ambassador and then for a brief period as the N.T. Regional Coordinator. MOPS has strengthened my relationship with my precious Lord and Saviour, MOPS has developed my Leadership skills and enhanced my ability to relate to other people. But most dear to my heart is that for a time when my daily life was one filled with snotty noses, nappies and sleep deprivation, God gave me a precious gift in MOPS. A place where I could come alongside to love and encourage other mums who were just like me. A platform where I could write about, speak about and share the love our Lord has for each person who came into MOPS, to look them in the eyes and tell them ‘You are precious in His sight.

MOPS is a great gift that is in your power to give. Every time you share your heart with another Mum or seek to bless her, or care for her practical needs or minister to her through craft and instruction and lead her into relationship with the Lord…remember that you are His instrument! You are making a Kingdom difference and He will bring good out of this. Turn your face to Him, your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your heart…all you have and He will gently and tenderly accompany you through each season on your own MOPS journey. (2 Timothy 4:2)

It’s natural, it’s necessary and it’s right.

Bless you Karen – I know that the Lord has great things in store for you and greater things for you to do. You are truly an inspiration and a great woman of God. Bless you heaps as you follow the path He leads you on and as you journey with Him may every person you pass by know that God is walking with you and taking you to places you have not seen or been before but He will enable and be with you.
